Raiding Policy

Raiding Signups

You must sign-up for Raids to go to Raids. Approvals for sign-ups are done on the websites calendar 24 hours prior to a raid and finalised on the morning of the raid. In order to improve your chances at a spot you should sign up early. However, approvals are not done solely on a first-come, first-serve basis. Class balance, rotation, gearing needs, and reliability are all considered.

It is the sole discretion of the Raid Leader who gets approved or wait listed.

If you are waitlisted, and online during the raid you will be given the same DKP as the rest of the raid.

REMEMBER: You must have signed and be waitlisted in order to get the same DKP as the raid. Simply being online is not enough.

PUGS

Ulduar 25 Man, Trial of the Crusader (normal and heroic) 25 man and Icecrown 25 man are not to be pug under any circumstances without clearing it with an officer first.

The following instances can be pugged;
Naxxramas 10/25 Man
Eye of Eternity 10/25 Man
Obsidian Sanctum 10/25 Man
Vault of Arcavon 10/25 Man
Onyxia 10/25 man.

Note that the guild runs VOA25 and Onyxia25 at some point during the normal 25 man raids.

Raid Invites & Start Time

The raid start time is the time that the raid is buffed and ready for the first pull. Members who know in advance that they are going to be on at the last minute need to leave a late note on their signup with the time they will be on. The timetable for a raid is as follows:

  • 30 minutes prior to raid start (19:30):Invites will go out. At this point you must exit all other instances, groups and battlegrounds. If you are repeatedly in other instances or battlegrounds you will be dismissed from the guild.

  • 15 minutes prior to a raid start (19:45) : Members should be online and at the instance. Replacements will be found for anyone who is not online unless they gave prior notice.

  • Raid start (20:00) : Zoned in, buffed and ready for the first pull.

Raid Addons

You are expected to use our Vent server and have the required raid addons installed and enabled. They are:
Ventrilo - If you cant get on Ventrilo you cant attend the raid. No Exceptions.
Omen - Threat Meter
Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs- Raid Warnings
Gird/Healbot or Clique - Healing
Decursive - Decursing/Dispelling (All Classes, except rogues & Warriors)

Raid Length

A scheduled raid will last approx 3 hours. You are expected to be there for the entire raid if you sign-up. Occasionally raids that are at their max raid time may continue after but the raid will be given a vote on whether or not to continue. You will not be penalised if you choose to leave.

If there is a reason that you can't stay for the whole raid and you are aware of this when you sign-up then include a late note. If an emergency comes up then you must let the raid leader know ASAP.

Loot

10 Mans.
Loot will be allocated out on a /roll basis, however the Raid Leader may decide to give an item based on need.

25 Mans.
Loot will be allocated out according to DKP. The exception to this are the Main Tanks who will be taken tier tokens first in order to obtain improved gear for Tanking. Very occasionally the Guild Master may decide to give an item based on need rather then DKP, however this right isn't exercised very often.

BoE Items
Bind on Equip items are offered to raided in the same way as normal items. If no body present in the raid wants the item it will go into the guild bank for a period of seven days. Raiders may purchase the item using dkp for their main spec only. Should a raider wish to purchase an item for offspec or for an alt they can purchase it for 50% of the Auction House price. After seven days if the item isnt bought it will be sold and the project paid into the guild bank.

Raid Chat and & Ventrillo

Please do not spam the raid channel with Damage Meters or other automated information. If you want to know healing or damage meters, wait until after the raid or look at the Raiding Stats. The raid channel is needed for raid-related communication.

Vent should be kept clear of chatter during explanations of pulls or boss fights.

If you disagree with how the raid leader is running the raid, or have suggestions for alternate strategies, then whisper the raid leader and he will invite you to talk about it in vent if required.

Raid Etiquette

Everyone is welcome to offer input, just remember to appreciate that Raid Leaders will be busy and not every idea will get processed right away. Do NOT go AFK without letting the Raid Leader know. Breaks will be given throughout the raid when appropriate.

The raid leader is free to disband to raids if he feels the raid is not making progress or is suffering from a lack of concentration. He can also switch you in and out if the different setup is required for certain bosses. Raiding can be stressful and continually disparaging other people in the raid, or shouting and swearing on Ventrillo will lead to a raid kick and a replacement being sought. Raid leaders and officers will pick people up on their behaviour and/or mistakes during raids, it is not raid members job to do this.

The Raid Leader and officers are there to run the raid so do not assume his position by issuing readychecks, etc.

Boss Tactics

Tactics for all bosses are posting in the Boss Tactics forum. Raiders must read these to understand any new boss encounter. Turning up at a raid without any knowledge of what the tactics are is unacceptable and will lead to a raidkick.

Penalties

These penalties are in effect due to the fact that raiding requires a time commitment from everyone. If members do not show up for a raid without notification it jeopardizes the raid. Members that go AFK for long periods of time also decrease the quality of a raid. 24 other people are relying on you to be there and be attentive. Repeat offenders will be wait listed for all raids and used as a backup, demoted to Socialite or ultimately removed from the guild. Penalties shall be enforced by the raid leader.

  • DKP Penalty of 60 DKP for signing up to a raid but not showing up - This penalty will not be enforced if you notify the raid leader not later then 2 hours in advance or find a suitable replacement.

  • Not signing up to a raid at all will earn a DKP Penalty of 60 DKP. However if you do turn up and are invited, this will be reduced to 30 DKP

  • If you leave during a Raid for any reason other than an unavoidable problem you will suffer a DKP Penalty of 60 DKP.

  • Attending a raid without any pots / flask or food buffs will earn you a 30 DKP Penalty. Additionally you will not receive DKP for that boss, as well as forfeit the chance at receiving loot from that particular boss.

  • If you go AFK for a long period of time (more than 5 minutes) without letting the raid leader know you will suffer a 30 DKP penalty.
